English Bluebells Watercolor Painting

I painted these English bluebells and trees from a photo taken by a photographer I follow on social media who lives in England. The texture of the trees, the golden path, and the fields of flowers mesmerized me. I wanted to step into that photo and explore the countryside. The only problem is, I live in Colorado! So, with his permission, I painted it!

Granulation

The two large trees are painted using granulating watercolor pigments that are also mixed with ink and Winsor Newton’s Granulation Medium. The effects of this created the texture of the trees.

Mixed media Watercolor painting on 140# Arches cotton paper using Daniel Smith professional watercolor paints and Daler Rowney FW inks.
